Embracing Change, Remaining Steadfast

If there’s one thing New York City teaches you, it’s that change is constant. People come and go, buildings rise and fall, and neighborhoods are always evolving. We live in a transitional city—fast-paced, ever-shifting, and full of unknowns. In recent years, we’ve all experienced the weight of transition more deeply than ever. The COVID-19 pandemic disrupted routines, closed doors, scattered communities, and forced churches everywhere to rethink how ministry happens.

But in the middle of all this change, one thing has never shifted:

God’s Word remains the same.

‍
His mission remains the same.

‍

At Saints Church, we’ve learned to hold tightly to the truth of the Gospel while staying agile in our methods. The way we do ministry might look different over time, but our purpose—to Reach People and Grow Believers—never changes.

A powerful example of this took place years ago when our congregation outgrew our original building. There simply wasn’t enough room to accommodate the growing number of people hungry for God’s presence. Faced with limited space, our leadership team prayerfully made a bold decision: to hold weekend services at Automotive High School.

‍

This wasn’t just a change in venue—it was a radical shift that stretched us in every way.

Volunteers arrived early every weekend to transform a public high school into a house of worship. They set up classrooms for children’s ministry, created a nursery, hauled in sound systems and lighting equipment, and prepared every space for people to encounter God. When services ended, they stayed late to pack it all up and return the school to its original condition. It was a labor of love—physically exhausting, spiritually stretching, and full of sacrifice.

But it was also a season of incredible growth.

‍

Automotive High School became a symbol of a church that was willing to be uncomfortable in the tension of growth. It represented a community that prioritized people over preference, mission over convenience, and the future over familiarity.

And that same spirit is needed today.

As we navigate the transitions of life—personally and collectively—we’re reminded that God is not limited by location, method, or comfort. He’s always doing a new thing. The question is: are we open to it?

‍

At Saints Church, we want to stay ready. Ready for what God wants to do. Ready to move when He says move. Ready to adapt when the mission demands it. Our buildings may change, our schedules may shift, and our strategies may evolve—but our foundation remains firm.

‍

Let’s be a people who embrace transition without losing our focus, who hold loosely to methods but tightly to the message, and who stay faithful through every season.

‍

Because even in a world that constantly changes, Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). And we’re building His church—no matter where, no matter how.
